How many New Years have you resolved to make positive changes to your body shape? And how many times have you thought back to the previous New Year and remembered making the same promises to yourself without achieving your goal?
How about this New Year doing something different? Cosmetic surgery is a way to assist your dieting and exercise regime, to get the body you’re longing for.
It may not be the way you envisioned all those years ago when you first resolved to lose weight purely from dedication in the gym. However, one thing is for sure, you won’t be starting next year with the same New Year’s resolution. In fact, you’ll probably be feeling younger, more confident, and really good about yourself.
Patients often share their stories with us after cosmetic surgery so you can get an idea of how you might be feeling once you’ve had your chosen procedure.
Ms M had breast augmentation surgery. She said:
“Having breast augmentation has changed my life rapidly. I absolutely love it. I am very confident and so happy.”
Ms G had liposuction on her legs. She explained:
“The operation went smoothly and I was discharged the following morning after a pleasant hospital stay. I had very little pain and was walking around.
“The results were amazing. Despite the bruising I could see the change in my body contour and I could not believe it! I had a few post-op consultations with Mr Misra who was truly caring in his concern for my welfare, aftercare and recovery. I was and remain ecstatic with my results. I feel “normal”, no longer so embarrassed and perhaps more confident wearing clothes that I wouldn’t have dreamt of wearing before.
“I’m grateful not only to my surgeon, who I truly trusted, but also to myself for having the confidence to undergo the procedure. My only regret… that I wish I had had the surgery ten years ago.”
Mr R damaged his nose in 2010. After years of becoming increasingly self-conscious about his nose as the years went on, he decided to have rhinoplasty (a nose job) to correct the problem. He said:
“A month on from my surgery and it couldn’t have gone better. Although my nose is quite swollen (as Mr Misra explained would be the case) the shape and level of comfort I feel is 10/10. I can’t thank Mr Misra enough for what he has done for me and I can now walk confidently without that feeling in the back of my mind that people are staring at my face.”
Make 2019 count
This time of year is ideal for undergoing cosmetic surgery as the colder weather makes it easier to find downtime to stay at home and recover afterwards and there is little risk of wounds being exposed to direct sunlight.
With a large number of surgical and non-surgical treatments to choose from you can target whichever part of your body you are uncomfortable with for fast and effective results.
As with any type of surgery, of course, there are risks but your surgeon will explain this to you prior to the procedure.
For example, if you are considering undergoing a surgical procedure such as a tummy tuck we recommend reaching your target weight beforehand as further weight loss afterwards may result in the need for further surgery.
So, whilst now is of course a great time to commit to getting fit and losing weight, saying “no” to the cakes and fried food and taking the stairs instead of the lift, it may now also be a good time of year to consider the range of cosmetic treatments available to you if you want to make a difference to your body shape this year.
